about
A felled Russian hussar sits propped against a tree at the mouth of a forest, located near the edge of a raging battlefield. Bleeding freely from his multiple wounds the battered trooper watches helplessly as the carnage continues in the distance. He feels his limbs grow heavy and cold as his vision blurs & his life starts to fade from his body.
The sky darkens & rain begins to shower down, rattling through the canopies of foliage surrounding the soldier. He becomes aware of the sound of fallen leaves crunching under foot as something approaches from the foggy murk of the forest. His watering eyes widen as they strain to focus on what appears to be a caped figure striding towards him with a steady, chilling certainty. Before he knows it the wraith like figure looms above him, any semblance of a face hidden within the seemingly limitless darkness of a cavernous hood. The spectral visitor raises an arm from the ethereal mass of its form & reaches toward him. The soldier hears the pace of his fevered breathing increase in his ears as he watches the outstretched fingers of a gnarled hand swallow the light as they close around his face...
